We provide interpretation free of charge to our patients and families who feel that they need help communicating in English. Our medical interpreters are trained to translate your questions and comments, as well as the information provided by your child's healthcare providers. We do not recommend that relatives provide interpretation because they may not have the technical knowledge required to interpret medical information. Our interpreters are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Please tell us if you would like an interpreter when you schedule your child's visit. We will do our best to schedule an interpreter to go with you to your appointment. If we are unable to provide an interpreter in person, we will provide one by telephone.
To call Seattle Children's using a toll-free telephone interpreting service, dial 866-583-1527. The interpreter will connect you with the operator at Children's and will remain on the line to interpret for you throughout the call. Please tell the interpreter the name and number of the person you would like to speak with. Frequently called numbers include the Emergency Department, Admitting and the Family Resource Center.
